Scrapbook 2009!

“God is beautiful.  Any beauty in this world must reflect God.  A flower reflects its creator; it is beautiful.  The beauty of nature reflects God and his creative, artistic nature.  For a woman to be beautiful, she must reflect her creator, God, and fulfill his purpose for her life.”

What is Spiritual Beauty?

“Inner Beauty means to me the spiritual woman in Proverbs 31.  She had excelled all other woman and at that time had a higher standard than of the world.  Beauty in a Christian woman is when she serves others, dresses modestly, and has a relationship with God.  Her character is slow to anger, quiet, and compassionate.  Also outwardly she is seen by others as spiritual in dress and actions.  Beauty is the life as a Christian we dedicate to God.”

“I think being beautiful is being kind, humble, and sweet.”

“I believe that beauty is not only looking nice and wearing nice clothes.  Your outward appearance doesn’t matter if you are kind, caring, sweet, loving, and humble.”

“Beauty to me is the ability to inspire the feeling of love and a joy which comes from God.  To have beauty means to be healthy and pure, to have a sincere heart, and a virtuous spirit.”

“After spending a week at Camp COMMIT, I learned that beauty is how you present yourself to people knowing GOD is watching.” - Christine

“Beauty is helping others and glorifying God in all you do.”

“Spiritual beauty is many things.  It isn’t what’s on the outside, how pretty you are, or how nice your clothes are.  Instead it’s the inside traits of love, meekness, caring, patient, kind, and many other great traits.  Christians need to show these traits and be spiritually beautiful so that we will stand out from the world.”

“I truly think beauty is the sweet, confident, faithful, believing personalities of someone’s soul, not the outside of someone.  It is also love.”

“I think beauty is the ability to keep your hear in God and glorify him in everything you do.  It is not your figure or your features.  It is not your level of “coolness”, but your level of devotion to God.  You need to have a good heart in order to be beautiful.”

“Beauty to me means not being beautiful on the outside, but within.  It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, because God loves us from within.  Your inner beauty makes who you are significant.  To stay beautiful is to be loving, meek, joyful, and willing to do God’s good deed.”

“To me, inner beauty is having the characteristics of Jesus in your heart:  Loving others, even your enemies (Matt 22:37-40), putting GOD first in your life and being a servant, like Jesus also (John 13:5-11), having a quiet, meek spirit (1Peter 3:3-5), and not outward, but purely inward.  Beauty is having a friendship with GOD, but also a fear of GOD and striving to be closer to, and more like GOD.”  - Emily

“Spiritual beauty is exemplifying Christ in your conduct, and having faith like that of little children.”

“Beauty, to me, means being spiritual, having confidence in believing in God, and having a meek spirit.  Beauty is not about your outer appearance, it’s about having faith in Jesus and being compassionate throughout your life.”  - Latrice

“Everyone is beautiful in their own way, but to me, a beautiful person is someone who is not trying to be the center of attention by being physically beautiful, but has a beautiful attitude.  It you have a good attitude, it will shine through.  But if you have a bad attitude, no matter how good you look, it is not beautiful to me.”

“Beauty is reflecting God in everything; in spirit, thoughts, speech, dress, and in actions, and not conforming to the world and the worldly people in it.”  - Anna

“Beauty is being very pure.  It is having a very meek, loving, gentle, patient, etc. soul.  To me, I don’t care how you look or smell on the outside, I just care about the inside.  If your inside is ugly and smells, then you look that way to me on the outside, too, sorry!”

“Beauty is anything that is precious in the sight of God.  It takes many forms.  It could be in the form of a mother caressing her child or a son or daughter willfully submitting to they’re parents.  It could be an elderly woman baking cookies for her neighbor, or a comforting hug to a hurting friend.  Spiritual beauty is not always visible to us but is always visible to GOD.”

“Spiritual beauty is what God has given you, when you live out his commands and words.  It’s not so much the outside that matters, but what’s in your heart.  Being humble, gentle, loving and kind are just a few wonderful characteristics that will be shown through you when you have true spiritual beauty.”  - Maria

“Beauty doesn’t just consist of appearances.  It can be a whole lot of qualities in a person that can make them beautiful.  Inner beauty and outer beauty can make a person very beautiful.  Inner beauty consists of serving others, someone who is loyal, humble, God-fearing, and who loves themselves, but not to the point of being conceited.  The best example of someone I know with these qualities is my mother.  In proverbs 31:30, it says: “Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”.  She loves the Lord and He is always first in her life.  First Peter 3:3-5 talks about how your beauty shouldn’t come from the clothes and jewelry you wear (material things too), instead it should come from within your soul.”

“When I see a beautiful person, I see someone serving others before themselves.  I see someone that lives their life according to God’s will and is a faithful servant of the Lord.  I see someone who aspires to attain more knowledge each day.  I see a humble, kind, considerate person that is disciplined and has great respect for others.”

“Beauty is a pure heart that loves and desires Christ.  It is something only God can bless you with (inwardly and outwardly).  True Beauty is in the heart.”

“Although the world views beauty as something entirely external, as a Christian, I see it as much, much more.  As Peter says in 1 Peter 1, our adornment must not be merely external, but it must be the hidden person of the heart with a gentle and quiet spirit.  This is true beauty to me.  When a women has such a quality as this, other godly characteristics fall into place.  Godliness is beautiful.”

“Beauty is a meek and quiet spirit, which makes a girl attractive and enjoyable to be around.  Inner beauty involves having a purpose bigger than yourself, so that you are focused on serving others rather than yourself.”

“I would define beauty as the quality that all Christian women who are actively seeking to please the Lord possess.  When one has been given the grace and salvation of the Lord and when they have a life filled with prioritizing the eternal kingdom of God, the emitted peace, contentment, confidence, and strength can be defined as nothing other than true beauty.”
